SynEctic Packaging LLC, a newly established converting company in Redwood City, CA, USA, is printing labels and packaging materials on a new flexographic press manufactured in China. The press is imported by J&H Printing Solutions Inc., of Brookfield, WI, USA, a recently formed company.

According to Mat Jones, a partner with Wayne Huang in J&H, the JH 1300 press will be on display at an open house on August 22 at SynEctic’s plant. “The quality of our presses rival that of North American and European manufacturers,” says Jones. “They are offered at an exceptional value compared with those machines.”

The press at SynEctic is a 13″ 10-color machine with a quick-change pull-out drawer system, one UV curing station, three die stations, and two cold foil lamination units. It performs slitting, delam and relam, reverse printing in the first station, and has a turning bar. Also on display at the open house will be a JH P340 video plate mounter, and a JH U600 ultrasonic anilox cleaner. The press, as well as the mounter and anilox cleaner, are manufactured by Ekofa in Qingzhou, China.

The principals of SynEctic Packaging David Hoydal, Gil Dulong and Joe Iskander. Hoydal and Dulong held management positions at Rotocolor and WS Packaging in California before striking out on their own as consultants a few years ago.
